When every part of a car works together seamlessly, performance and efficiency are maximized. That’s the simple notion behind SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY. Body construction, chassis, transmission and engine work in perfect harmony to deliver thrilling performance without sacrificing efficiency
By pushing our cars to the extreme in fast-paced and unforgiving environments, we learn valuable lessons about safety, performance, efficiency and reliability. And that translates into a better car for you, both on the road and on the track. After all, more Mazdas are road-raced on any given weekend than any other car.
When designing the latest MX-5, we were careful to include subtle callbacks to past models. The taillights are a prime example. But to modernize the MX-5, we reduced their vertical height. The result is an even sleeker, more compact design.
Fitting the headlights into the MX-5’s aggressively shaped body with its short overhangs meant reinventing the headlight. The position of each LED bulb, the parabolic-type LED high beam and the turn signal layout produce more intensity and better visibility for better driving.
The MX-5's iconic soft-top can be unlocked and dropped in one step and with one hand, right from the driver’s seat. Should the weather or your preference change, the “assist spring” mechanism makes closing the top just as easy.
When we set out to design the first-ever Mazda MX-5 Miata RF, we knew the cabin had to be just as beautiful as the exterior. It also had to evoke a sense of excitement for the road ahead. So, we made sure every detail was purposefully placed to make driving better. From the instrument panel to the gear selector, everything was laid out with intention and care to make your every move more intuitive. Why? To let you focus on what matters most: driving.
At Mazda, our single biggest goal is to build cars that bring people joy. Cars that make you feel better when you step out than before you stepped in. We believe people should feel rejuvenated and exhilarated every time they take the wheel. Not just on curvy roads, or barreling down a straightaway, but even commuting or running errands. Every last detail is centered around bringing a smile to the driver.
This convenient system integrates with your car’s display screen to offer advanced lane guidance, a 3D interactive map, and can be controlled with voice commands.
Mazda warrants that new Mazda cars and trucks will be free of defects with normal use and prescribed maintenance for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Ordinary maintenance items or adjustments, parts subject to normal wear and replacement and certain other items are excluded. This transferable "limited warranty" is included on all new Mazda vehicles sold and serviced in the United States.
With the available intuitive Active Driving Display, vital information such as vehicle status, current speed, and route guidance is projected onto the windshield. Pertinent data is positioned in your line of sight and allows you to better adjust your focus—ultimately minimizing distractions while driving. Is it possible for something to transport you without moving? It is, when it’s designed for you, the driver.
When travelling at low speeds, this system detects objects ahead. If an impact is predicted, the system will adjust the brake pads closer to the disc for faster braking, or apply the brakes if you’re unable to.
